Part of how we love people.
Giving is one of the practices that shapes us. It keeps the church running, it funds the partnerships under Love in Action, and it's a way of saying that what we believe shows up in how we use our money.
We don't teach a particular percentage or push a particular cadence. Generosity is between you and God. We try to be transparent about what we're doing with what we receive, and trust people to give as they feel led.
What your gift funds.
We publish a full annual budget at the start of each year — ask any leadership team member or staff person and we'll send it to you. The broad strokes:
- 01 Sunday gatherings
The space, the AV, the coffee, the kids' materials — everything that makes the room work.
- 02 Staff
One full-time staff salary plus the smaller contracted hands that keep things running.
- 03 Love in Action partnerships
The local and global organizations we're committed to as a church.
- 04 Spiritual formation
Groups, mentoring, Spiritual Formation cohorts, resources, retreats when they happen.
- 05 Outreach & hospitality
Table Talks, neighborhood gatherings, the work of being known and welcoming in Boone.
- 06 Operations
Insurance, utilities, the boring infrastructure that makes the visible things possible.
Please don't feel pressure to give.
If you're new to the Heart, we'd genuinely rather you didn't give your first few visits — we want you to figure out if this is your church before any of that. Giving is for people who have found a home here. Until then, you're a guest, and we're glad you came.
A few practical things.
- 01 Tax status
The Heart is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
- 02 Receipts
You'll get an email receipt from Pushpay right away. We send an annual giving statement for your records in January.
